It is divided in 8 provinces being; Cagliari (it's capital), Sassari, Nuoro, Oristano, Olbia-Tempio, Ogliastra, Carbonia-Iglesias, and Medio Campidano. Each province has something special and should be explored.
This island is highly visited due to it's emerald crystal waters, beaches and coves. It is also very visited by those interested in history as there are many archeological remains. Nuragues are the most typical and characteristic of this island. Sardinia was first conquered by the phoenicians, and then the cartigineans, romans, bizantine, arabs, and the Crown of Aragón.
